How big is the picture you get?
Instagram publishes each profile picture at a handful of fixed sizes and picks one depending on where it is being shown — the circle in the app is a much smaller file than the one behind it. This tool asks for the largest size Instagram publishes for the handle and hands you that file untouched.
The result card prints the exact pixel dimensions of what arrived, so the size is a measurement rather than a promise. You can see before downloading whether the picture suits what you need it for.
Any site promising a guaranteed HD original for every account is upscaling the published file and calling it HD. Upscaling invents pixels, not detail, which is why the result looks soft when you view it at full width — there is no extra information in the file to sharpen.
Viewing a profile picture without following
For a public account, the avatar is public. Entering the handle here shows it enlarged without opening Instagram, without logging in and without appearing in anyone's activity — the request is made by our server, not by your browser.
Private accounts are a genuine wall. Instagram does not serve their avatars publicly at any size, so a lookup for one reports that rather than returning a placeholder. Tools claiming otherwise are showing you a cached copy from before the account went private, or nothing at all.
Your browser never contacts Instagram
The lookup runs on our own server, and the image itself is streamed back through the same proxy. Your IP address, browser fingerprint and referrer are never exposed to Meta's servers, and the preview you see on this page is served through that proxy too rather than hotlinked from their CDN.
Nothing is stored. The handle you enter is not logged against you, and the image is passed through rather than saved on disk.

How do I download someone's Instagram DP?

Can I see a private account's profile picture?
No. Instagram does not serve avatars for private accounts to anyone who does not follow them, so there is nothing public to fetch. The tool will tell you the account is private rather than showing a placeholder.
Why is the picture smaller than I expected?
Profile pictures are stored at a modest size to begin with — they are only ever displayed as a small circle, so Instagram does not keep a poster-sized copy. This tool returns the largest size published for the handle and prints its exact dimensions on the result card, so you can see what you have rather than guess.
Will the person know I downloaded their picture?
No. Viewing or saving a profile picture generates no notification, and no view is recorded. The request is made by our server, so it is not tied to your Instagram account in any way.
Do I need an account or an app?
Neither. It runs in any browser on desktop, Android and iOS, with no sign-up and no install.
Can I download an old profile picture?
No. Instagram keeps only the current avatar accessible; previous ones are not exposed through any public endpoint once replaced.
